BRONX, N.Y. — An elevator accident in the Bronx on Thursday left one worker dead and another hurt.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. inside a residential building located at 133 East Clarke Place in West Concourse.
The city Department of Buildings says mechanics were working on the elevator, when it fell down the shaft onto one of the men.
The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
It's not clear how badly the other worker was hurt.
According to the DOB, the permitted work was being performed by Champion Elevator Corp.
The permit was issued in November 2020.
An investigation is ongoing.
