TAMPA, Fla. — The University of Tampa’s women’s lacrosse team are national champions.
The Spartans captured the crown Friday in Winter Park, topping Adelphi (NY) 13-8.
The title is the first for the school’s women’s lacrosse program.
The Spartans finished their very first national championship-winning season with an overall 19-3 record and an 11-game win streak.
Sophi Wrisk led UT with five goals and an assist while Peyton Howell scored a goal and added five assists.
