As the country honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day and we reflect and celebrate the work and achievements of the civil rights activist, we discuss the status of civil rights relations in Florida. We will explore our evolving world with discussions of growth and change. Does the current political climate contribute to our society’s current state of race relations? We will discuss the monumental developments in the Groveland Four case and the changing dynamic the new Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, is portraying with his administration and the clemency board. We will also discuss the impacts of Amendment 4 and restoring voting rights to an estimated 1.4 million Floridians.
