The West Indian Day Parade is more than just a march along Eastern Parkway -- it’s a weekend-long festival celebrating all things Caribbean. Brooklyn State Senator Kevin Parker, Yolanda Lezama-Clark and Shyka Scotland join Ruschell Boone to talk about all the many aspects of the Carnival. They focus on the rich history of the parade, which dates back to the 1920s, when it was held in Harlem. They’ll also talk about the characters who grew the parade from a small Brooklyn block party to the extravaganza it is today.

Watch "In Focus" with Cheryl Wills, every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
