Lawmakers are trying to pump the breaks on illegal street racing in Florida.  The problem continues to rise in Central Florida, and in fact, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office created an anti-street racing detail last year.  We explore the street racing bill that was passed this past Legislative Session – HB 611/SB 116 -  which would increase penalties against those who are found street racing.  The bill also allows law enforcement to use social media to combat the problem.  We will also explore additional solutions, including race parks that offer an alternative to street racing.
