KENTUCKY —  Senate Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer, who was first elected to the State Senate in 2003, explains during this In Focus Kentucky segment, why he supports a pre-filed bill in the upcoming 2021 General Assembly session that if signed into law, would limit the duration of a state of emergency and require a governor to get approval from state lawmakers to extend a declaration.

This proposed legislation is in response to Gov. Andy Beshear's handling of the COVID-19 outbreak.
