Jumaane Williams has been New York City's Public Advocate since 2019.  Before that, he was a City Councilman, representing parts of Brooklyn.  But he's best known as one of the city's foremost activists, fighting for under-served communities.

As he prepares to run for re-election in 2021, Williams is speaking out for changes in our political and social systems.

Williams talks about the 2020 elections, and changes that need to be made to the New York City and national voting systems.

Politically, he's called for an end to the two-party political system that has existed since the country was founded. He talks about why he believes the two-party system actually stops people from voting.
