Host Cheryl Wills continues the conversation with Assemblywoman Richardson on gun violence. Richardson talks about the impact the rise in violence is having on her community, and communities throughout the city and across the country.
She says, "hurt people hurt people," and talks about why the focus needs to be on helping "informal" members of society, those who exist outside the world of 9-5 jobs, gang members and those who believe crime is the only way to finance their lives. But none of this can happen without money, and she'll talk about her expectation that issues like gun violence, ignored by the current federal administration, will be brought to the forefront in the next administration.
