KENTUCKY — Sen. Stephen Meredith (R-District 5) is a member of the Kentucky State Senate and represents five different counties in south central Kentucky.

Sen. Meredith’s career experience includes working as a hospital CEO for a number of years.

During this In Focus Kentucky segment, Meredith shares his perspective on COVID-19's impact on rural hospitals in the Commonwealth.

"It bothers me greatly that we're not giving the same priority to rural health care, rural hospitals, as we are urban centers. So I really don't anticipate any significant legislation to assist hospitals. Last session, we did pass Representative Bentley's bill to set the framework to provide some financial investment but unfortunately, I don't know where the dollars are going to come from, unless there's some relief from the federal government," explains Sen.
