Rural Americans bear the brunt of the country’s doctor shortage — and in Texas, home to the largest rural population of any state, it’s especially problematic. More than one-fifth of Texas’ 254 counties have only one doctor or none at all. Texas organization of rural and community hospitals (TORCH)- is working to change that, facing the rural health care crisis head on. We talk with President, John Henderson about why the cause is so important and what needs to be done in rural areas.
