STRIVE is committed to helping adults and young adults overcome barriers that prevent them from building good careers. Barriers like housing — half of STRIVE students each year do not have stable housing.
Executive Vice President of Programs & Impact, Lakythia Ferby and Director of Community & Alumni Engagement, Cecelia Hemingway Morrell join “In Focus” to discuss how they’re helping New Yorkers find employment and the work they’re doing with the homeless.
They also explain how the pandemic has made a hard situation even worse for those trying to escape poverty and how they’re working to close the opportunity gap through their five-pillar model.
Since 1984, STRIVE has helped over 80,000 students achieve stability and upward mobility.
Ferby and Hemingway discuss how they prevent those students from falling back into the same cycle that many of them were born into and the resources for those struggling.
