Shanta Thake, the Chief Artistic Officer at Lincoln Center, joins "In Focus" to discuss the first Festival of New York.
It is a citywide movement, celebrating New York's comeback. Lincoln Center is one of the hundreds of organizations taking part in the festival, which features 300+ organizations across all sectors. The Festival of New York runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Thake explains how the festival inspires people to connect, give back and create a more inclusive city. Additionally, she discusses small business weekends and how they're supporting minority and women-owned businesses.
The festival of New York is also about discovering new open spaces and cleaning city parks.
