KENTUCKY — We’re now 10 months into the year 2022. Gov. Andy Beshear (D) has continued to lead the state during high profile weather events, including historic flooding in Eastern Kentucky earlier this summer.
And, more recently, the Beshear administration has been active on the workforce and economic development front with multiple recent jobs and record investment announcements across our state.
During this In Focus Kentucky, Gov. Beshear talks about new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, that shows Kentucky led the nation in job growth for the month of August, adding 26,700 nonfarm payroll jobs, which translates to a 1.4% month-over-month growth rate, which was the largest seen by any state.
"I think a lot of what's happened is people have seen Kentucky for the good people that we are and knowing that when they invest in us, we don't let them down. The thing that we talked to each of these potential investments about is speed to market. That we will bring all parts of government together from our permitting to our inspections, and we will work with you to make sure that first no corners cut. We want it to be safe. We want it to meet all the requirements, but that we will get your facility up and running faster than anyone else and people have confidence in us," explains Gov. Beshear.
