Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Month and explained how her office is tackling the violence.
She recently announced the relaunch of a domestic violence task force, which will increase access to critical services for domestic violence survivors.
Gibson discussed some of the recent domestic violence incidents in her borough.
One incident included when a Bronxite Gabrielle Muniz, 26, and here 6-year-old daughter, Rozara Estevez, were allegedly killed by Muniz’s boyfriend back in March.
As the former co-chair of the women’s caucus, Gibson explained what services are out there for domestic violence victims and discusses the Domestic and Gender Based Advisory Council.
She also talked about how her office is fighting for survivors of domestic violence.
