Lisa Desort, the mother of Azsia Johnson, joined “In Focus” to discuss her daughter’s tragic shooting death in June on the Upper East Side.

Johnson was pushing her three-month-old baby when she was shot by her baby’s father. Luckily, the baby was not injured.

Isaac Argo, 22, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Desort explained what led up to that tragic day, and if there were any warning signs.

The NYPD confirmed a domestic violence report involving Johnson was filed in Jan. 2019 while she was pregnant.

Desort is raising her daughter’s children. She explained how domestic violence affects the whole family and how it’s not only a domestic violence issue but a gun problem as well.

Desort discussed what needs to be done about the over-proliferation of firearms on the city’s streets.

Stephanie McGraw, the founder of “We All Really Matter,” discussed her own battle with domestic violence and how it inspired her to start her nonprofit.

She also talked about the resources her organization provides to mothers, like Desort, and victims of domestic violence. Resources include emergency rescue, shelter placements and crisis management.
