Public Advocate Jumaane Williams joins "In Focus" at Barclays Center for I WILL GRADUATE Day to stress the importance of staying in school.

Nearly 180 schools had the opportunity to participate in youth development programs, college guidance and community workshops at the event.

Williams discusses how far I WILL GRADUATE has come and why funding organizations like this one is imperative for public safety.

Williams also talks about 19-year-old Ethan Holder, an assistant who was fatally shot while walking home from the school where he worked at earlier this month.

Williams then explains what should be done to prevent gun violence across the five boroughs and discusses the resiliency of young people. He also talks about the support youth need to make it to the finish line, stay in school and graduate.
