KENTUCKY — Rep. James Comer (R) joins this week’s program to share his federal legislative priorities ahead of the upcoming session in Congress which resumes in Jan. 2023.

“I’m going to lead the Oversight and Accountability transition part of the House of Representatives. We’ll lead every major investigation through the House Oversight Committee. I’m assuming I’ll be chairman of the House Oversight Committee. I’m assuming the House will officially flip and I’m assuming that my conference will give me the nod to be the chair. But, we’ve been doing background work for months We’ve been interviewing people, we’ve been researching. We’ve been probing, and we have a lot of concern. We have concerns about the lack of southern border security and some of the decisions that Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas has made. We’re concerned about the origination of COVID and some of the decisions that Dr. Fauci and Dr. Collins at the NIH made and possibly trying to hinder investigations into the origin of COVID-19 that we will investigate that more and do that in a in a public setting. And of course, I’ve been very vocal about concerns that we have with Biden, namely influence peddling,” explains Comer.

Comer won re-election to serve another two-year term on Election Day 2022, as the U.S. Representative for Kentucky’s 1st Congressional district, a position he has held since 2016.
