Bronx State Senator Jamaal Bailey shared his thoughts on Reverend Al Sharpton’s closed-door public safety summit. He explained what he hopes comes out of it as it relates to crime across the city.
According to the NYPD, overall crime rose 22% in 2022 but declined in December for the second straight month. Bailey discussed the “Raise the Age” bill, which prohibits children under 12 from being arrested or prosecuted — except for homicide cases.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Bailey explained what he wants to see done in the borough, as it relates to public safety.
As one of the youngest members elected to the State Senate, Bailey discussed the importance of having fresh new voices in Congress now.
