Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson discussed the Bronx’s pandemic recovery and how she’s helping bring jobs back to the borough.
One in every four Bronx families was unemployed during the height of the pandemic.
She also talked about the importance of affordable, quality and safe housing across the city, saying it’s a fundamental right for every New Yorker.
She and the other borough presidents recently held a panel discussion on the record-high rents in Brooklyn and Manhattan in January.
Gibson discussed what came of it and her housing goals for the Bronx.
She also previewed her State of the Borough address and discussed the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
The Universal Hip Hop Museum just received a $5 million boost in federal funds. Gibson explained where it will go and what’s in store for this summer’s anniversary celebrations.
The museum is scheduled to open next year at Bronx Point.
