Grace Bonilla, president and CEO of the United Way of New York City, celebrated Women’s History Month and her new role with the nonprofit.
For 85 years, United Way has been fighting to ensure New Yorkers live with dignity by building long-term solutions to break the cycle of poverty.
Bonilla explained how United Way’s alleviating equitable challenges across the city and is focused on career advancement for women.
She said New York is facing a two-part crisis where adults can’t make ends meet, and children are struggling to succeed in school.
Bonilla geared up for United Way’s Power of Woman to Make a Difference luncheon. The funds benefit after-school educational programming, book, nutritious meals and school resources for the city’s most vulnerable children.
