Two Charter School Network leaders, Rev. Al. Cockfield and Bishop Raymond Rivera, joined “In Focus” to weigh in on the migrant crisis.
Rivera, founder of Family Life Charter School, shared how charter schools are opening their doors and willing to step up to help take on more migrants if DOE schools cannot.
Cockfield, founder and executive director of Lamad Academy Charter School, also discussed why BLACC is so important and impactful to charter school students. He said that having representation in leadership to advocate for their experiences makes a giant difference in their studies.
They both also talked about the charter school cap and why it’s a controversial debate among school leaders.
