DOC Commissioner Lynelle Maginley-Liddie talked about how the DOC officers, along with their canine companions, help protect detainees by searching for contraband at all entry points around Rikers Island.

She also discussed how any death of a detainee while in custody is a tragedy, and that most people don't know they have an underlying condition before coming into custody.

Maginley-Liddie shared information about different programs that help Rikers detainees better themselves.
