Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh explained what "ASAP Units" are and why consistently updating technology is crucial to emergency situations.

She talked about how to access fire hydrant spray caps and also offered crucial boating safety tips.

She then discussed  how diversity in the department has gotten better over the years, but still remains a work in progress.

The commissioner also commented on the new documentary on the first Black fire commissioner, Robert Lowery, and how he continued to be a trailblazer.
