KENTUCKY — Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., delivered his fifth annual State of the Commonwealth address Wednesday, Jan. 8 to members of the General Assembly.
During this week's "In Focus Kentucky" program, we're sharing highlights from Beshear's 43-minute speech, where he discussed various topics including several of his administration's accomplishments during his first four-year term. They include record investments in new jobs and economic development to the rollout of Kentucky’s medical cannabis program.
Beshear also spent time also calling on state lawmakers, who are back in Frankfort for this year's 30-day General Assembly session, to "be thoughtful, even prayerful, about the legislation you choose to pass this session."
Also, on this week's episode, Republicans shared their reaction to the governor's address.
