Public Advocate Jumaane Williams shares why he believes civic engagement is important for young people and says MLK Jr. inspired him to lead with peace and healing in his political work.

Williams discussed Mayor Adams’ recent State of the City speech and how he plans to hold him accountable on his promises to New Yorkers.

He also touched on public safety and said crime is making residents concerned for their safety in places like transit and schools.

He then shared his thoughts on President-elect Trump getting inaugurated on MLK Day and said the nation needs to come together inside of being divided.
