Councilmember Amanda Farias talked about equity-focused legislation and why environmental justice is important.

She shared her own experience growing up in the Bronx with asthma due to pollution from the parkways and discussed what she’s doing to change that for future generations.

Farias mentioned legislation to ban toxic chemicals in menstrual products and said it’s the most logical next step in transforming chemical products we use daily.

She emphasized the need to reverse climate change, especially for the residents in the Bronx.
