Democratic mayoral candidate Whitney Tilson says his business background benefits his mayoral run.
Tilson talked about how the city has the highest rents in the country and a low vacancy rate. He discussed how the government and private sector should work together to invest in building more housing.
Tilson detailed his plans to cut crime by 50%, saying the city is already on its way to meet his goal because of Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch’s hard work.
He also shared what he would do to fill in the gap for the city budget with federal cuts going on, and detailed plans to use his business background to better manage the budget.
Tilson explained why he thinks his background being different than other candidates who have political experience is actually a good thing.
He finished the conversation by giving a final pitch to New Yorkers.
