The controversial new gig workers law, AB 5, has some independent contractors worried about their livelihood including Danica Pinner, a freelance cellist who has already lost work because of it and Christian Lebano, Artistic Director for Sierra Madre Playhouse which has had to halt production on a show. 

We also heard from James Hicks, an Uber driver and member of Rideshare Drivers United who supports the new law and from Kathy Fairbanks, a spokesperson for Protect App-Based Drivers & Services, who is against it.
