We are talking about work across the New York State to build towards an environmentally sustainable future and meet its climate goals, and the role skilled workers in the building construction industry play, this weekend on In Focus.

JoDee Kenney was joined by New York State Building Trades Council President Gary LaBarbera to discuss the economic benefit of keeping these jobs local. LaBarbera said skilled trades workers provide valuable experience and safety to the job site. The Building Trades Council also works to support programs to grow interest in apprenticeship programs that Barbera said can lead to well-paying journey-level jobs.

More information about those programs and opportunities can be found at https://apprenticeshipworksny.org.
