We are highlighting some of the best moments of our 2024 shows. In our Black History Month episode, we honored the powerful legacy of retired Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, who died the last day of 2023 and was known for breaking barriers for communities of color. And ending that edition on a high note, we caught up with a Texas living legend–the grandmother of Juneteenth–Dr. Opal Lee as she visited a North Texas school.

During Women’s History Month, our In Focus Texas team had the opportunity to expand on the legacy and projects of Sen. Judith Zaffirini, the new dean and longest serving member of our state Senate.

A total solar eclipse that was visible in several parts of Texas last April brought plenty of excitement to the Lone Star State. Here on In Focus Texas, we devoted a 30-minute show to the natural phenomenon. Dawn Davies from the Hill Country Alliance Night Sky Program joined us to share different options to enjoy the eclipse.
