This week on “In Focus,” we explore natural disasters and emergency response across Wisconsin. Examining where the greatest risk for disasters lies and discussing the work that takes place to prepare for and respond to emergency situations.

While wildfire risk in Wisconsin is nowhere near as high as many other parts of the country, a risk still exists. Catherine Koele is a wildfire prevention specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Koele joined Spectrum News 1 to discuss where the risks exist in Wisconsin and the strategies the DNR and other local agencies employ to minimize wildfire risk.
