BEREA, Ohio — Browns training camp kicked off Thursday in Berea.

  • There’s a new energy around this year’s team
  • Fans believe the Browns can win this year’s Super Bowl
  • 15 practices open to the public from now until August 21

Fans swarmed the Cleveland Browns practice facility Thursday morning to get in on the action.

And support their Browns, who many called “the team Cleveland deserves.”

Fans say the energy around the team is different.

“It is a different energy and, boy, it’s something that’s just so exciting and everybody around is thrilled. We just hope that they come through,” said a fan.

“The atmosphere. We have a really big fan base. And I think that everyone is really supportive and I think we’re gonna have a really good season,” said a fan.

Several fans told Spectrum News 1 they believe the team can win the Super Bowl this year.

“The team’s looking good…I’m excited to win some games this year... excited for the Super Bowl,” said a fan.

The man who calls himself a “Browns Super Fan” agrees that the team’s chances of winning the championship are looking good.

I think that it is absolutely... probable,” he said.

But fans that have been around a little longer aren’t getting their hopes up too high just yet.

“Let’s be a little more competitive. Let’s take one game at a time,” said a fan.

“I think the playoffs are definitely in our grasp,” said a fan.

Fans say they can’t wait for that first game to finally experience the team that Cleveland needs.

Cleveland Browns Quarterback Baker Mayfield says being a part of this new hope makes playing the game he loves all the more worth it.

“This is a tradition-rich franchise that needs to have that standard every year,” said Mayfield. “And so, it’s just getting back to that baseline, setting that foundation for everybody else and for them to realize this is what they should expect every year… and that’s how you build a great culture, a great winning culture. They do deserve that. And that’s how it needs to be.”

As for Browns Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr.— he says he can feel the love, and that love improves his game.

“The love is real and it’s crazy and I just want to be able to reciprocate that and I wanna spread it and give it as much as possible,” said Beckham.

The Browns will host a total of 15 practices that are open to the public from now until August 21.
