KENTUCKY — Recently, the House Local Government Committee and full House of Representatives passed legislation aimed at helping Kentuckians with substance use disorders in all 120 counties.
State Representative Adam Bowling (R- Middlesboro) is the primary sponsor of House Bill 7, which would create recovery ready communities and create a statewide advisory council to help facilitate the program.
During this In Focus Kentucky segment, Bowling also explains that the advisory council would be housed under the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy with 19 members from different areas including business, recovery, education, local government & health care leaders.
Bowling says including stakeholders from each of these industies will ensure that appropriate and meaningful “Recovery Ready” standards for communities across the Commonwealth.
