KENTUCKY — This week we’re sharing legislative priorities from the perspective of legislative leaders in the Kentucky state senate and also community organizations and advocacy groups in the Commonwealth.

This year’s legislative session only lasts 30 days, spread out over 3 months.

Lawmakers gaveled in during the first week of January and over the first four days of the session, the House advanced House Bill 1, which builds on a major overhaul to Kentucky’s tax structure that began in 2021.

During this In Focus Kentucky segment, Kentucky Senate Democrat and Minority Caucus chair Reggie Thomas of Lexington, weighs on this and other legislative priorities for this session.
